This was not your typical Go-See—actually, Olga Tavarez isn’t a model at all. The co-star of the CW’s new modeling agency-makeover show, Remodeled, Olga has a champion’s resume: 14 years in the fashion biz, a contributing entertainment editor for V magazine, agent for top modeling agencies like DNA and IMG, and current VP of the Network agency. During our chat, this native New Yorker let us in on the secret to scoring a date: Just ask. (Easy, right?) And don’t get caught sweet-talking anyone other than that person-of-interest: “Flirt with the waitress, and I’ll walk out!” I love her fiery personality. See her in action on Remodeled every Wednesday night.

At the Shows: Video Recaps for PROJECT and (capsule)
Missed all the market action these past few weeks? Our friends at two of the world’s premiere trade shows PROJECT, and (capsule) hit us with these videos chronicling their New York installments. Daps and hugs to all involved in making these things go off big; they get better every season.
Coming Soon: Hugo Guinness for Coach
British-born and Brooklyn-based artist Hugo Guinness’ graphic, mostly black-and-white artworks are exercises in equal parts artistry and wit, with a dash of whimsy thrown in. The artist, who creates linocut prints out of the ordinary objects, animals and people he sees in daily life, is now collaborating with Coach on a limited edition collection of bags and accessories. The 17-piece line takes Guinness’ illustrations out of the frame and onto reversible leather totes, wallets, sunglass cases and more. His unique, sparse take on handcuffs, a New York City coffee cup, a boxer, sunglasses and a key show up in the collection that will be available in February on coach.com and in select Coach stores. Below, our exclusive look at some of the collab’s offerings…
Best at the Shows You Ask? It Was Pask

As a self-prescribed men’s style geek, I’m watching what’s happening off the runways as much (or sometimes more) than what’s happening on them, and the best dressed dude in Florence, Milan, and Paris this year was Bruce Pask. The men’s fashion director for T Magazine, and The New York Times, was a presentation in practiced restraint: beautiful coats, trim, cropped trousers, and somber, smart accessories. Pask has that kind of sartorial awareness that can be achieved only after years in the game. Keep it simple. Know your strengths. Good advice whether you’re an industry vet or a style rookie.
MRket Watch: Edward Armah Donegal Tweed Pocket Circles

Feeling the whole donegal tweed craze, but not ready to jump full-on into a jacket? These pocket circles from Edward Armah could be your gateway drug. Pop these into a blue or gray flannel sport coat, and you might find yourself fighting an urge to proctor an exam, or maybe you’ll just look really nice. Coming for fall 2012.
Editor’s Pick: MAN Trade Show
The New York trade shows have come and gone and this season we have to say that relative newcomer MAN stood out as our favorite. The small, curated collection of brands included established menswear favorites like the Hill-Side alongside newer ones like Hope from Sweden, Creep from Japan and Steve Mono from Spain (which had some killer leathergoods).
Your Morning Shot: Sean Connery

“I haven’t found anywhere in the world where I want to be all the time. The best of my life is the moving. I look forward to going.”
More PROJECT Picks: Todd Snyder x LHN Accessories

Spotted at Todd Snyder’s section of the PROJECT trade show was a rather handsome slide belt buckle, above, that as it turns out is part of a new accessories capsule collection, Todd Snyder x LHN. A former goldsmith for Philip Crangi, jewelry artist Lewis Williams hand cast each piece, which also includes a key ring, bracelet and bottle opener, in brass. Look for the limited-edition line to hit stores in late summer.
MRket Watch: Gitman Bros. Cashmere Ties

These buttery cashmere ties come in every conceivable shade: cuz if you have to knot one everyday, it may as well be natty. Look for ‘em later this year. $195.
MRket Watch: Libero Ferrero Portage

The MRKet show in NYC, and Vegas has gotten a freshening up in the last three seasons with industry veteran Michael Macko presiding over Vanguards Gallery: a curated spotlight on either young brands making an impact or established labels with something new to say: Libero Ferrero is the former. And while I realize we just featured their duffel here on the Eye, this Portage briefcase is simply too damn pretty to pass up. Horween hickory leather on the outside, Holland & Sherry suiting wool inside (and that killer contrast strap). This bag makes it a pleasure to leave the house every morning, regardless of where you’re headed… jury duty? Now, I just need to forgo food for a few weeks to buy one.
